Iron Tamariki

 Today in class my activity was the iron tamariki . I really like the iron tamariki because he was training for it and also he would get a award from them and from dad because is dad is gonna make his favourite dinner for a year if he win.I learn to take your time and don't rush in sports .

Life of the Early Church

Today in class we were doing RE Reason why because . The early christian were persecuted  by jews who wanted  to get rid of Jesus.They gave what they had to the apostles and broke the bread at home.Because they were filled with the holy spirit they could teach huge crowd about jesus.Beside teaching the early christians often healed people performing miracles.It was hard for them because they didn't have a lot of who believed in God .

Fraction Pretest Term3

 Today for math we did a pre mathe test it was fraction to see how much we learn about fractions . The thing was easy was the number line it was easy because you just have to remember about which is before and after. The Thing was difficult was the one you had to divide 2 it was hard to remember all of it.

 This Week we have been learning about Ancient Olympics game it has been so much fun learning about when it started until now . The first olympics game started at Greek they had different sports they did like , Wrestling,running,dicus,Boxing and long Jump.

 Today we were learning maori so we did a family tree about it but in maori we had to do our mum side and our dad side it was so cool screencastify he are the words that we use for our screencastify and family tree.

Prototec math

For my math learning we did protec math I did level 4 again because I got 80% before so I learned now i got 100% and i was so happy to get it now i will be working on level 5 now . Something that i really love is working and thinking hard about it . Something that it was hard was to focus . Something that was fun is this taking my time .

My Swimming safety

 

Swim magic 

During this  two last week been going to Swim magic is on Morrin Road we went there with my class we went there to learn how to swim when we are in danger are we have been chase by a shark.

At first I felt so excited and scared  to learn how to safely swim in the water so I knew what to do .Things I could already do in the water were  float on my back and to kick with my feet  and to freestyle .I hoped to learn more about safety swimming  there at swim magic . 

During our lesson we had to listen to the instructor so we knew what to do and also to not do anything silly while we were swimming.We were learning to do  different swimming in the pool and to  know how we can float on our backs. The hard things were diving down and holding our breath when we needed to . The skills I enjoyed practising were floating on my back .

At the end I felt sad because we had no more swimming lessons.My biggest challenge was to swim on my back and to aslo to dive underwater . Compared to the start I did really well at the end but at the start I was the best at swimming but I got better each day. I will use these skills to be  safe in the water and in the pool.

Book Review

 This Week we have been reading books I have read Raya and the last dragan I really like it because it is a Great book to read and also you can watch as well it was fun to read . It because she has to get all of Dragon gem and put it back to together and free the people from stone . I hope you like my work.

RE body and blood

Today we learned about jesus christ so we did a drawing of the last supper it was fun what people made and draw. I showed a picture of my drawing i hope you like it it was super fun to draw it i hope you like it . Jesus said in the last supper . I shall not drink any more wine until the day i drink the new wine in the kingdom of God . I also did a picture so you could compare it to my drawing . First thing tat we did we can listen to a spoken text. Second thing we did we unpacked the meaning of the text and the third thing we did . We can transfer import information from written text to visual text .

Jesus Ascension - DLO

 This week we have been learning about jesus ascension we did a DLO were you put words about your learning it was fun doing it because we could right words we know and if we didn't now we will learn about those word. We did a lot of work on jesus ascension so we could understand about it so we could tell it to our cousin or family. It was so fun learning about jesus ascension i hope you will like my activity.

Jesus ascension

 This term we have been learning about jesus so we did something that related we  did and activity that means about jesus the first part was when he came palm sunday the second part was .When he  had last supper and the last part when he went on the cloud to heaven we did a activity that related to it we also did a storyboard so you could see it .

Jesus entered Jerusalem - on a donkey 50 days before Ascension day.

On Thursday of the week that followed Palm Sunday - Jesus had his last meal with his apostles

The day after his last supper Jesus - was put to death on  calvary hill. 

Jesus lay in a tomb for 3 days and then God raised him up. 

After his resurrection Jesus showed himself - to his friends and some did not recognise him.

He spent time with his apostles and - told them he was going to return to his father

50 days after Palm Sunday Jesus made it possible for his followers to do the same thing

Because Jesus entered heaven in glory he - was taken by God to share his glory in heaven

New zealand tree

Today for creative writing we were learning to use descriptive words and words that relate to New zealand native tree and plants.The first thing we had to do was write our descipure writing only using 100 words. Then we had to creature a slideshow . can you guess what tree I wrote.

Sailing

 Last week on thursday we went sailing at ohuhu bay  we had to prepare to go to sailing you had to bring togs for sailing we also brought Twp 8 ( Te wairua pakiki 8) but only took the year 5. We had to go on the bus to get there it was pretty far i got scared cause i didn't want to go in the water it was pretty deep . when we got there we had to go of the bus and we had to follow kim to go to the place were we are gonna to sail. The year 5 went sailing first we walk to the beach and we watch them sail it was super fun seeing them sail . After it was our turn we were super excited to go but first we had to wait for them to come back  to land . 

We had to go grab swim suit to go and sail and we had life jacket just incase if we tip over our boat we had to go in partener my partner was brianna we had to listen how to work the boat . We also learn how to get the boat in the water and. I told my partner to get in the bout while i push it to the water when we got in the water we had to have a rope cinted to a other boa
t then the sail us .Then after we got far they took of the rope and we sail it was pretty hard to sail but me and my partner took turn sailing.

I went first and it was pretty hard to sail but then we got used to it then after my partner had a turn and she was super good at it we also had a race and i got a water gun to shoot them .It fun because we didn't have sailing before and also they taught us how to flip over our bout when we flip over some people jump of they boat and tried . It was super fun and also some of them went into different boat when they jump of there boat.It was super fun how to sail thank you for giving us a an chance to sail.

New zealand native tree

 This week we have been doing Native plant we had to split in group . I was with nasili and jacob we had to pick a plant and find information about it we pick the puriri tree we had to find out a lot of information about it was not easy finding .It was so fun finding information  but also really hard.

BRain BRunch

 This week we have been taking Life education we have been talking about stress how it round in my body we have been doing a activity to remind how our brain,lungs,heart,stomach,small intestine and large intestine work in our body. We have been  making brainy brunch to see what information they have put on there brain brunch here is what i have put before my brain brunch.  

St Francis

 Today Te wairua Pakiki ( Twp) we were put in to our Term 2  whanau working groups. We had name our group a saint values that we like . As a group we desire on St Francis the reason we pick St Francis because he . Treated animals like family and also listened to God.

My maori alphabet

 Today in Twp4 we were learning the maori alphabet  so how to remember it we had to color the right one . My favorite to do was to remember rise it and to color . The  hard things was that you hat to now which one was which  

My amazing plants

This week we have been learning about plants if plants are so imports because without plants we could die . My favourite was learning about all the plants and listen to it . The thing that was very hard was to take notes when it was talked . The  things that i learn was different plants and how plant live .

Plants are living organisms they all come in different shape,size and color,but they all need air,water,healthy and sunlight.Plant cover most of our earth Big or small on the land or on the sea from forest or desert plant are almost around the world. Plants are so important because without them we will die.
Plant create food from the sun energy that will help the plant . Cells wall are rigid and unbending since plant don’t have skeletons these .Cell wall give  them  their structure without cells wall tall tree, cactus and even little flowers would not be able to stand up. During Photosynthesis plant  use the sun energy to change water and carbon dioxide into a kinda sugar . They use this sugar to grow and develop and store the extra in their leaves,roots or fruits.In addition  to sugar plants produce oxygen  during photosynthesis .

Mother day cards

 Today we had a  very special mass.We were celebrating early mother day . We had some of our mothers come in and  celebrate  with us. 

In  class this week  we have made our very own Mother's day cards.First you get A4 paper and you fold it nice and nittley and then we draw a love heart then  we cut strip of paper and the we quill( roll) it with a pencil so it can go tiny and then you take out  the pencil then you just roll it normal .Then it is shape has a rose then  you place it in side of the love heart that you draw after you keep on quilling  you strip of paper until the love heart that you draw is full. Then you you get a piece a paper cut it but not that fin the after you use glue and you put in on the side of the roses  and then you put the srip of paper on the side and it will glue on the rose that will make a love heart full of rose .

Ana Vowels and Consonants​

 Today for maori we have refreshed our memories about the maori alphabet by learning all of the  letters by i song .

The Maori alphabet ( arapū) is made out of eight consonants, five vowels and digraph. Digraph are two letters that combine to form one word.https:

Ana Maui

 This Week we were post to be going to Ki Orah but it was cancelled because it started raining so we had to go back school . When we came back to school Mrs N-K said we can do .Maui slowed the sun so we watch the video after Mrs Nees said we could weave when we started weaving it was so hard but some people were getting used to it after that she said if we finish she will give us a part when i finish  weaving then she gave me a part then part was . When Maui said to his four brother let go and slowed the sun down and then i had to draw it it was kinda hard you don't have to colour it because the colour of the weave will color the drawing. After that you draw the picture you use a vivid so they can see the drawing after i had to give it to my teacher so she could take  picture and then we blog it .

My Soul friend,st patricks and Ash Wednesday

 Today for Saint pius X School( Spx) We Celebrate St patrick's,Ash Wednesday and Soul Friends. It was Saint Patrick's day but also Ash Wednesday because it was lock down so we celebrate it to with soul friends it was so fun that i am gonna to tell you what these mean.

St patrick's his patron saint  from Ireland of irish people .

Soul friends was made from Holy faith sisters they said the person that you pick you have to trust and love that someone that will listen to you when your talking.

American Cup

 Yesterday 10th of march American cup started New Zealand won but Italy won the second race so they tie so on friday they are having 4 or 2 race so who getting the amercanican cup.

Pablo Picasso's Art - Drawing #1

 Yesterday, the 9th of March Te wairua pakiki 4 (Twp4) did some art this is based on Pablo Picasso's cubism art 

Pablo Picasso's was born on 25th of October on 1881 and died on 8th of April on  1973. His first every painting he paint was when he was 9 year old and his title of his painting was Le picador and he was artist at doing cubism he always use different patterns and colors.

In cubism you can play around with lot of shapes. The facial features like your eyes,nose,mouth and ears can be in different shapes and places.Our teacher said " Cubism is that it look as if was painting dropped and cracked and was rearranged when put back together".

 When we looked at pictures we notcited that  some pictures have different pattern and colors in his painting and he put eye,ears,mouth and nose were every he wants .

After our teachers demosterd and we saw lots of examples it was on turn to draw

Step 1:

In pencil, draw your head, any shape will work. You can use a mirror or draw from your imagination.

Step 2:

Add your facial features, eyes, nose, mouth, etc. Try to use shapes you noticed in your discussion.

Step 3:

Add your hair. What lines can you use to look like hair?

International Womans day - 8th march 2021

On the 8th of march was International Women's day . In our class we did an activity to challenge the stereotypes and bias of both male and female roles within society. We first had to get into same gender groups. we then wrote down the positive and challenge of  the opposite genders . The  boys wrote abut the positive and challenge for females and the girls wrote  about the positive and challenge of being a male .

After we came up with some ideas in our group we then we then joined our groups with the opposite genders . something we noticed was that two lists were very different . women had more challenge  for in examples women had lots challenges around expected for raising and  looking after the family .On  the other hand males had more positives  . For examples men can play and get paid professedly for sports get to sleeps in and are father.

We also said that challenge for a male is that they have to provide for family and have to always be brave.

something we learnt from this is that males and females aren't considered equal in lots of aspects of life.

Making Bookmarks

 Today in class we made bookmarks. We made bookmarks, so that when we read our book we can read from when we left off. What I felt difficult was making it, because when you have to sticky finger from the glue and when we touch cotton it was on our fingers.What I felt that was easy was to stick in the paper and to fold the paper and I enjoyed colouring it and making strips.
